Her client care philosophy is to follow evidence-based practice and the shared decision-making model.Įlia will be starting in the outpatient setting at the Adie location to treat mental health clients across the lifespan. ![]() During her junior year, Elia was one of the three nursing students selected in an honors program from the Washington metropolitan area as a VALOR (Veterans Affairs Learning Opportunities Residency) recipient during the summer with a structured clinical experience with a preceptor and educational coursework in a clinical setting.Įlia worked as a psychiatric mental health nurse in an inpatient setting for adults aged group (18-65) prior to coming to Colombia Associates in Psychiatry. Elia has been able to advocate for the mental health population in various ways in addition to bedside nursing, such as volunteering for underserved mental health community education and outreach.Įlia received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from George Mason University in 2015. She received her graduate degree from the George Washington University School of Nursing in 2021 and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.Įlia entered the healthcare field in 2004 and has served the mental health community as a psychiatric mental health nurse since 2017.
